As Chief Technology Officer for the Public Sector in Asia, Michael is responsible for Microsoft’s Technology Policy initiatives and engagements with Government and Academic leaders. Through this bi-directional dialog, he ensures that the unique needs of these constituencies are reflected in Microsoft’s technology and development strategies. Michael leads a team of nationally focused CTOs across Asia and currently shares in the leadership and direction of this worldwide community. He has been leading this function since March of 2010.
Michael has worked for more than 20 years in the development, management and sales of information technology. Prior to his current role Michael spent 5 years as Microsoft’s Chief Technology Officer in the Middle-East & Africa and more than 6 years at the US corporate headquarters doing technical development, marketing and policy strategy. Before joining Microsoft, Michael spent more than 10 years developing and deploying technical systems for oceanographic research. He holds several patents in enterprise systems management and has a degree from Columbia University in New York.
